You read it right, Urja is the first Hindi rapper from Mauritius. Urja aslo known as Randhiir Sharema, is a well known singer, actor  and song writer. His Rap song “Hi-Tech Wala Panga” is the first ever Hindi rap song to be released worldwide by a Mauritian artist. The song is about the negative effects of the internet in our lives. He has sung and written many Hindi songs which have been released by companies in India. His first song was “Kaise Bhulaoon…Never Ending Memories” released by Ocean Records, Mumbai. After that he released many other songs in the Hindi language which he wrote and composed. His latest song was “Mere Pyare Maula” shot in Mumbai produced by Crown Entertainment.

 

Urja is among the very few Hindi language singers in Mauritius. He is a trained singer from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute and the Sa Re Ga Ma Academy in Mumbai. He has also learnt from Pandit Devanand Pathak and Pandit Arun Debnath. He was motivated to sing popular songs after learning about the art of singing from the Maestro Shri Shailendra Singh who has been the voice of famous actor Rishi Kapoor in songs like “Main Shayar to Nahin..”, “Jhooth Bole Kawa Kate..” among other hit numbers.

From his first release till date, Urja has evolved as a Rap singer with his first release “Hi-Tech Wala Panga” in 2023. He has written the lyrics and acted in the music video.
