Urja started acting in English plays during his school days. He then moved to Mumbai to learn the Art of Acting at the Roshan Taneja Acting School. He got the golden opportunity to be guided by the Professor Roshan Taneja himself. Having learnt the craft from the best in the United States, Professor Taneja has been the first Acting teacher in India at the Film and TV Institute of Pune. He has trained great actors in the Bollywood Film Industry like Shabana Azmi,, Smita Patil, Jaya Bachan, Om Puri, Anil Kapoor, Naseerudin Shah to name a few.
Urja worked as an Actor in the TV serial “Beta Hi Chahiye” for Big Magic Chanel and “Dial 100” for Doordarshan. He has acted in many music videos like “Kaise Bhulaoon” and “Mere Pyare Maula” shot in Mumbai.
