From the very few Mauritian artists who venture in writing and singing original Hindi songs, Urja rises far above the rest. Urja is also known as Randhiir Sharema. He writes and sings in Hindi. Till date he has written several Hindi Songs released by music companies in Mumbai, India. He is the first Mauritian artist who not only performs, but also writes and sings best original Hindi Songs in Mauritius.
Mauritian born artist Randhiir Sharema has chosen Urja as his Screen name. He not only writes original popular Bollywood style Hindi songs but he is also a rapper. He wrote his first song ‘Kaise Bhulaoon” in 2005 which was released by Ocean Records in Mumbai. Later he wrote songs like “Jeena Mere Yaar” and “Bhul Na Jaana”, both released by Red Ribbon Musik in Mumbai.
Urja wrote and composed the song “Mere Pyare Maula”, his first Sufi Song in 2023. The song was sung by him and was picturized in real locations in Mumbai suburbs. It was produced by Crown Entertainment. In the same year 2023, Urja surprised everyone by writing his first Rap song. This was the very first Rap song written and sung by a Mauritian Artist in the Hindi language. This song named “Hi-Tech Wala Panga” is about the actual drawbacks of the internet. It was liked by many for its deep lyrics and originality.
In 2024, Urja launched his second Rap song which has become very popular. It was titled “Film Industry”. This song voices out the dark side of the film industry and malpractices taking place in the film industry. Apart from writing and singing, Urja is a trained Actor and Director. He has acted in Hindi serials in Mumbai. He has also written and directed a short movie in Hindi called “Love and Belief”, which won the Best Short Movie on Social Issue at the Nashik International Film Festival.
